The third volume of the well-known Ukrainian-American
author's writings contains a selection of his prose works in Ukrainian.
It contains his first novel Roads
, Ukrainian-language versions of excerpts of all of his seven books
of fiction in English which are gathered under the title Seven
Attempts, and the autobiography Running
Barefoot Home and Back. From the first two works, the reader
may learn how desperately the author has searched through the course
of his literary career for an adequate language in which to express
himself; from the third one -- about the world in which he has lived
and his outlook on it.
