This catalog is the first to introduce the National Museum of Ukrainian Folk and Decorative Art’s full collection of powder horns from the late 17th to early 20th century. At the heart of the collection comprises pieces from the age of the Cossacks. This area of folk art is little studied, and this publication is an attempt to uncover the original place of powder horns in the home, the materials they were made from, and their ornamentation and decorations.
